Girls Lax, Boys Lax, & Boys Tennis Go CC!

We have three teams still alive with important matches on the horizon including Boys Lax tonight.  Please read on for an update from Athletic Director, Aaron Joncas. Go CC!

Girls Lacrosse

Under the tutelage of first-year Head Coach Erin Cash and Asst. Joe Bohenek, the Girls Lacrosse team, secured the #3 seed in the D1 East Sectional. After two convincing wins at home over Mansfield and Natick, the team traveled to Walpole for the Sectional Semi-Finals vs. Franklin. The teams were evenly matched, and the game was tied at 9-9 late in the second half. CC scored twice to take an 11-9 lead with 3:00 remaining and was clinging to an 11-10 lead when they gained possession with under a minute left and killed the clock to secure the victory.

Next game is Friday at 430 at Walpole HS vs. #1 Walpole for the D1 East Championship and a chance to play in the state semi-final game, tentatively scheduled for Monday.

Boys Lacrosse
After an outstanding regular season, CC finished tied for 1st place in the Coaches' Poll and was slotted as the #2 seed in the D2 Central/East bracket of the state tournament. After beating North Attleboro 18-6 and handling Hopkinton for the second time this season 12-7, they have advanced to the sectional final vs. #1 Medfield today at 430pm at Natick High School. Both teams have talented players and are extremely well-coached.  Unfortunately, the boys suffered a difficult loss 9-7.  Great season and we are proud of their performance!

Boys Tennis

Boys Tennis advanced to the Sectional Final on Thursday at 4pm at Reading High School vs. Wayland, a DCL rival. The boys finished the regular season at 14-2 overall and earned the #2 seed in D2 North. They dispatched Middlesex League teams Melrose and Belmont easily before a tough Semi-Final match vs. Winchester that was played before a spirited crowd at the CC courts. CC advanced 3-2 and head into Thursday's match on a roll! In the event of rain, the match will be played on Friday at Reading at 4pm. No admission fee.
