End-of Year-Activities And Emmy Nomination

Today marks the 10th or 100th day following April vacation. Even a flawed, illogical argument could sway me to believe either. Typically, what's easy is doing what is familiar and comfortable, but I am so happy the entire CCHS community did not pursue the easier path. It is so great to have more students and staff in the building, and yesterday watching our student-athletes participate in a wide range of activities under bright blue skies felt, dare I say, something resembling normal.

With this in mind, I provide information regarding senior week activities and end-of-year celebrations for seniors. The events will not be traditional, and they will come with needed safety protocols, but I am confident they will be safe, fun, and memorable.  Have a great weekend.

Congratulations, our music video “You Raise Me Up“ has received three Emmy Award nominations!

1) The full music video received an Emmy nomination in the category  “Best Arts & Entertainment Program”

This means that everyone who worked on or in the production, including all choir students, soloists, and our violinist/pianists are considered to be part of an Emmy Award Nomination!

2) In the Cinematography category, seven videographers are nominated for “Best Photography – Short Form”

3) In the sound/audio category, Deborah Smith and Owen Curtin have been nominated for “Best Audio”

The names in each category who are statue-eligible if the nomination wins are listed below..... along with the other nominees in that category.

Normally in-person, the award ceremony is virtual this year.  The NATAS Boston/New England chapter will present the 44th annual Emmy Awards ceremony as a virtual event on Saturday, June 26. We will follow up with details, but please save the date!

Congratulations to each of you and to the students for a work of excellence!
