Revised Bus Pickup Times & Student Parking

Due to heavy morning traffic in town, it is necessary for the Transportation Department to adjust all route times for the Concord Carlisle High School buses so they can arrive on time. THESE CHANGES TAKE EFFECT ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th.

I am including the CCHS routes with the updated times, and you can always find the most recent route times on the district transportation webpage. 

It is important to note, even with the adjusted times the Transportation Department reports all students have gained a minimum of 20 minutes from last year's pickup times.

We all know that parking on campus can be challenging at times and we are actively working to create a more efficient system.  This problem is not new.  Reviewing a 2015 analysis the previous parking lot configuration included more parking passes (426) than total present spots (413).  We have a total of 171 student parking spots, and with a senior class of over 300, this presents a problem.  

Further complicating the issue is the remediation project, which has started on the old student/faculty parking lot.  Initially the remediation project was expected to be completed before the onset of school; however, construction delays have changed the expected completion date until the fall.  During this time, we lost  20 spots along the Walden Street entrance.  To help alleviate some of the parking issues we converted 13 staff member parking spaces to student parking spaces this past weekend.  This change brings the present student parking sports total to 184.

Also, we have been actively looking at numbering all parking spots on campus.  Since the summer the facilities department has been exploring this, and we are waiting for a response from vendors.  Once the painting and numbering system is complete, we will have additional spots at our disposal.  My sincere apologies for the frustration caused by parking and bussing.
