The start of school marks the unofficial end of summer, and, with that, comes excitement, enthusiasm, and maybe a little anxiety and longing for the summer months. Soon, the quiet hallways of July and August will be replaced with the energy and enthusiasm of students and staff.
In just a few weeks staff will greet our incoming first-year students, welcome our returning sophomore and junior classes, and collaborate with the class of 2018 to provide the leadership necessary to make every student’s high school experience positive and memorable.
A new school year brings with it new goals and initiatives, such as Q5, and new course offerings, such as Robotics and Coding. Most importantly, a new school year brings with it new students and staff members who, along with the current staff and student body, will continue to make Concord Carlisle High School one of the best in Massachusetts and the country.
Among our objectives is to prepare students for the competitive 21st Century global environment, and to support them in reaching their highest potential. As a team and also as individuals, we will continue to work hard to meet the noble mission of our school:
“Concord Carlisle High School is committed to excellence in and out of the classroom.
Our mission is to inspire our students to strive for and meet the highest levels of academic and personal achievement, while nurturing a respectful, supportive, engaged, curious, and passionate learning community.”
All of our goals support the overarching objectives of making students feel safe, welcome, and connected, while we work together to help prepare them for their futures. Preparing our students for citizenship, college, and careers has never been more demanding or exciting. It is a monumental task that requires a hardworking, dedicated staff committed to not only student achievement, but also to our own personal and professional growth. I am confident we are up to the challenge.
Three necessary components of any successful school system are safety, organization, and high expectations for teaching and learning. I assure you that these three factors will guide our daily decision making in the months and years ahead. We look forward to your input, participation, and support as we work together to achieve our goals.
We look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on September 14th. The evening begins for parents of first-year students at 6:00pm and all parents at 7:00pm. We will continue to provide school updates and student highlights utilizing various digital communication platforms: Our Website, Principal’s Blog, Facebook, Twitter (@CCHSAPMiller, @MJM_CCHS) and Instagram. It is not necessary to have an account with all listed as they are updated simultaneously.
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive 2017-2018 school year. Enjoy the fleeting days of summer!
Sincerely,
Michael J. Mastrullo
